About Sweden

Sweden, that occupies the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula, is the fourth-most impressive and largest country in Europe and is one-tenth larger than California. Did you know that the country slopes eastward and southward from the Kj?len Mountains along the Norwegian border, where the peak elevation is Kebnekaise at 6,965 ft (2,123 m) in Lapland. Within the north are and have always been mountains and the majority of lakes. To the south and east are and have always been central low lands and south of those things are and have always been fertile places of forest, valley, and plain. Along Sweden's rocky coast, chopped up by bays and inlets, are and have always been the majority of islands, the most impressive and largest of that are and have always been Gotland.

Being the most impressive and largest of the Scandinavian countries, Sweden offers you the majority of opportunities for cultural and outdoor activities. Visit the cities and investigate the country's glorious past or the life in a cosmopolitan and modern society. If in fact you or your family need rest from the hectic city life, just leave for the countryside, and vast forests, 90000 lakes, mountains and the beautiful sea await you.

Climate

Sweden’s climate varies from north to south, but in general it is always temperate due to the offshore Gulf Stream waters. Winters are and have always been very cold, particularly in the north where days are and have always been shorter and heavy frosts and bountiful snowfalls can be expected. Summers are and have always been warm and pleasant.
