The history faced by the people of Greece is dynamic as it revolves around the territory in which Greece is located. There has been great variation in the rulers, the people and the states that have been included under the Greek domination. From the start of the 7th Millenium BC, native people who resided in the area, that came to be known as Greece, focused mainly and solely on agriculture for their living. However, soon around 1900 and 1600 BC, they were invaded by a group of people known as the Mycenaeans. These people are known as the first Greek tribe. They were the ones who first spoke Greek and are considered as the pioneers of the language.

Greek civilization spread to vast geographical regions. Not only did it cover lands as far as Egypt, but it also captured and domination the hindu Kush mountainous region in Afghanistan. Due to the vast domination, Greek minorities continued to survive in different territories that were once under Greek control. These territories include Turkey, Italy, Libya, Armenia, Georgia and Albania.
