Welcome to Poland
About Poland

The title of this article has been taken from the pages of Polish history, because Poland is a unique nation, which is situated in between two of the most aggressive powers on the European continent, Germany and Russia. For much of their history, the Polish cities of Kraków and Warsaw have been cultural and intellectual centers for the Eastern Europeans. At the same time, the fact that Polish art, literature, and innovation were among the finest in Europe also attracted the ire of both the Russian and German. Furthermore, Poland is also economically wealthy due to its massive amounts of natural resources, which also attracted would-be invaders several times throughout Polish history. Based on historical experience and cultural uniqueness, the phrase “only for Poland” has been associated with the extremely pervasive and ingrained nationalist sentiment, which is emblematic of the feelings of the Polish regarding their own nation, and the worldview of their nation. Modern Poland has a population of nearly 40,000,000 people, and this population is made up of native Polish people as well as Germanic and Slavic peoples.

Climate

Weather in Poland has been described as very unstable. However, summers are pleasantly warm, although June is the warmest month of the summer in Poland. The Polish fall generally begins in September and is warm, bright and sunny. However, by November fog has descended upon Polish cities and rain begins to fall steadily. Winter in Poland is extremely hard, and wet. Snow, sleet and ice are common attributes of Polish winter. The most frigid months of the year in Poland are January and February, when temperatures drop well below zero. Despite the fact that the Polish winter is as frigid as it is, tourists often journey to the nation’s mountainous regions to participate in sledding, mountain-skiing, as well as cross country skiing.
